Women find the Newmar motorhome meets or exceed expectations.

Ms. Freddie L. and Ms. Sally B. purchased a 2008 Newmar Dutch Star 4023 at Independence RV.  This wasn’t their first Newmar, or even their first RV.  “Freddie  and Sally” are part of a growing number of women, who have hit the open road and are enjoying the RV lifestyle.   “Freddie and Sally” are part of an informal group of eight women, who call themselves “Women in Newmars,” who have purchased Newmar motorhomes such as the Newmar Mountain Aire after trying other vehicles and finding the competition to fall short in their expectation for quality and workmanship.

In 2001, “Freddie and Sally” agreed to purchase their first motorhome with Sally’s stipulations that “we would spend one-half of our road nights in a motel, and dine out whenever we feel  like it.”  The jury was out on their enjoyment of the open road as their first RV was a 23’ Class “C” Georgie  Boy.  “Neither the sofa/hide-a-bed, nor  the over cab sleeper provided a good night’s rest,” says Sally.  Within three months they traded out of the  Class “C” to a National RV Sea Breeze 31’.   “We purchased a large gas-powered motorhome.  We put a lot of miles on a coach (20,000+ a year), and we learned we should have purchased a diesel pusher,” says Freddie.  So, in May 2002 they upgraded to a Fleetwood Expedition 36’ diesel pusher. “Ater three years we agreed …not enough  horsepower,” according to Freddie.

“We traveled with some of our other ‘Women in Newmars’ friends, Pat F. and Judy B., who had spent a  lot of time researching and investigating various RV manufacturers and  products.  They visited manufacturing facilities and toured plants, becoming more aware of construction techniques and the quality of workmanship.  ‘Pat and Judy’ eventually purchased a 2003 Newmar Dutch Star 4004, and they have since traded up to a 2005 Newmar Dutch Star 4024.   We discovered the difference in quality and workmanship in the Newmar  product compared to the previous motorhomes we have owned - the Newmar quality just screamed at you,” says Sally.  “So, in 2004 when we decided to upgrade to a Newmar RV we visited  Independence RV.  Our salesperson, Helen Curtiss, was very knowledgeable.  She took the time to show us everything we wanted to see, but we just didn’t find that ‘emotional connection,’ to any specific coach, until Helen shared a 2004 Newmar Northern Star 3934 with us.  We immediately knew it was the  motorhome for us.  We’ve put over 69,000  miles on the Northern Star, crossed the country several times visiting the deserts of Nevada and Arizona, the coastlines of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, the mountainous regions of Alaska, the Canadian and Colorado Rockies, and the coach has even traveled by ferry to the island of  Newfoundland.”

In 2008, “Freddie and Sally”  returned to Independence RV.  They successfully located a 2008 Newmar Dutch Star 4023.  “We are sold on the Newmars.  There are no rattles or noise on the road, or  if you’re parked in a resort, you really don’t hear any noise, unless you’re parked adjacent to a highway and an 18-wheeler goes by and hits the ‘Jake  Brake,’” says Freddie.  “The feature that  ultimately made the difference was the Comfort Drive Steering System which was available in the  Mountain Aire RV and Dutch Star – we  flipped-out!  It’s fantastic – the coach  is really easy to handle!”

“We could have gone to any Newmar dealer to buy our coach, and there are Newmar dealers closer to where we live than Independence  RV, but we are treated so well by Sales, Service, and Parts Departments that we  go out of our way to have our sales and service done at Independence RV,” says Sally.   “Women in Newmars” and Independence RV - a great match.
