Background

Raised in Jacksonville, FL and now residing in Lakeland, FL, Dirk married his high school sweetheart, Becky. The Touchton’s have a lovely daughter, and they are proud grandparents to her three boys. Now a veteran of 14 years in the RV industry he offers his customers tremendous knowledge and a terrific perspective of where the industry has been and where it is going.  Dirk knows Newmar Dealers are some of the most successful RV dealerships in the country offering Newmar motor homes in gas or diesel power trains.

Dirk is not only well-schooled on Newmar luxury motorhomes, but he is also well-versed in Fleetwood motorhomes, Winnebago motor homes, Coachmen RVs and Tiffin motor homes.  Dirk’s wide breadth of RV industry knowledge serves his Newmar motorhome customers well, especially in the used RV sales marketplace.

When Dirk is away from work he enjoys a lazy afternoon accompanied by his grandsons as they frequent some of Dirk’s favorite freshwater fishing holes. If the weather is permitting and the back is willing, you can also catch Dirk on the links as Independence RV’s resident “shankopotamus.” Dirk takes advantage of his vacation time by traveling the world. His most recent international trip allowed him to dust off his high school German as his travels included Germany and The Republic of Czechoslovakia.

“One afternoon a couple, who had purchased a used Mountain Aire motorhome from us, was anxious to begin their travel back to North Carolina. I offered to top-off the diesel fuel tank for them while they finished organizing personal items to be placed in their tow vehicle. The couple was so impressed that I would top-off their new motorhome that they were more than pleased with the purchase and delivery of the vehicle.”
