Independence RV ASE Certified Mechanic Ed Nicklaus | IndependenceRV.com

RV chassis technician and RV engine mechanic

Ed Nicklaus is more than an RV mechanic…he’s a mechanic’s mechanic.  Sure he can reference the manufacturer’s manual to set the gasoline engine’s idle two degrees before Top Dead Center, but it’s his hands on experience with years of RV engine repair coupled with his ability to hear the perfect hum of the engine and smooth vibration-less reaction of the block that puts the engine in perfect performance.  Genuine replacement parts are preferred, but if some part is no longer available, Ed’s “can do/can repair” attitude and resourcefulness can lead to RV chassis component and RV engine problem solving.  He has 15 years of quality service and repair experience at Independence RV, working on every type of Newmar RV including the Mountain Aire RV and he is ASE, Spartan® and Freightliner® certified too!

When away from the dealership, Ed is a model train enthusiast.  He applies his natural mechanical and tinkering ability to building, repairing and operating a magnificent model train collection.

Most Rewarding Customer Experience

“There’s this Swiss couple, who bought a Ventana from Independence RV.  They come over here two or three times a year, but always for a short visit.  We help them out by getting their RV and tow vehicle out of a local storage facility to perform requested repairs before they arrive, so their vacation is unimpacted.  They’re nice…it makes me feel good to help them.”
